In school Lessons Kids On
Wheels
Since 1981, Stardust (originally
Stardust Enterprises, now Stardust Kids on Wheels) has been
visiting local elementary schools to teach children roller
skating during their P.E. classes. Our instructors visit each
school for one, two or three weeks (depending on the
population of the school) and teach basic skating skills and
safety rules both for indoor and outdoor skating. We supply
the instructor, skates and, if requested, helmets. We visit
approximately five or six schools each week and run the
program September through June of each year. Between 1981 -
2008, we have been booked in schools in the following
districts: Surrey, Langley, Delta, Vancouver, Richmond,
Coquitlam, North Vancouver, Burnaby, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford,
New Westminster, Whistler, and West Vancouver.

the helmets after use, if necessary. The instructor will wear
a helmet during instruction if requested. Our instructor will
provide lunch break skating (after their half hour lunch
break) as long as a member of your staff is present. Please
note: Our instructor is entitled to a minimum of a ten minute
break in the morning (recess) and a half hour lunch break.
Our instructor will cover
balancing, proper starting and stopping techniques, forward
skating, backward skating, crossover, Mohawk turns, and
spirals - progressions will depend on the skating abilities
of the students in each class. The instructor will spend
extra time discussing safety rules and proper equipment for
outdoor skating. Discussion will include how to check your
own skates to insure they are street safe.
A one week program (4 1/2 days - no instruction after noon on
the last day!!) will cost $995 and a two week program (9 1/2
